One of Shirley Scott's last viable recordings before she passed away is a sweet, delicious collection of jazz standards and originals with a fresh-faced group that the organist was happy she was able to present, if the music is any indication. Young trumpeter Terell Stafford and tenor saxophonist Tim Warfield-- friends and colleagues going back to their college days -- make for a formidable.

It contains a great version of ‘Moanin'.’ The title track has Shirley Scott doing what she does best: playing laid back organ. The next album is “Mucho Mucho,” recorded in In contrast to the other albums offered on this Real Jazz release, this project has a larger band with vibes and a full Latin percussion section/5(16).

An admirer of the seminal Jimmy Smith, Shirley Scott has been one of the organ's most appealing representatives since the late '50s. Scott, a very melodic and accessible player, started out on piano and played trumpet in high school before taking up the Hammond B-3 and enjoying national recognition in the late '50s with her superb Prestige dates with tenor sax great Eddie "Lockjaw" Davis.
