«In the Ghetto» vart spelt inn av Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds og gjeven ut som debutsingelen deira. Han vart spelt inn i Trident Studios i London og gjeven ut den juni med B-sida «The Moon is in the Gutter». Singelen nådde plassen på UK Singles Chart. Songen var ikkje opphavleg med på noko album, men vart seinare gjeven ut på CD-utgåva av debutalbumet, From Her to Eternity.

The story goes that Malmsteen was flown in at the last minute by producer Mike Varney to finish the album after the songs had already been written (by bandleader/lead singer Ron Keel) and recorded; Malmsteen quickly added his tracks and Steeler was released. Obviously, cliché-ridden songs like "On the Rox," "Born to Rock," and "Backseat Driver.

I grew up in Lubbock, Texas, and it was a ghetto in every since of the word, but we didn't use that word back then. I was trying to come up with a song called 'The Vicious Circle,' how a child is born, he has no father, and the same thing happens. The word 'Ghetto' became popular in the late '60s to describe the poor parts of town.
